Since its founding in 1961 the CMU Honors Program has nearly 3,000 Honors alumni, distinguished in their fields, and making a difference in their communities. We have alumni working in all majors, as well as alumni earning advanced degrees at some of the finest institutions in the world (i.e. Harvard, Cambridge, Princeton, Georgetown, Yale, Duke, University of Michigan, Oxford, MIT, etc.) Our alumni continually earn national and international awards for their success.
Honors Alumni remain active with current Honors students and the Honors Program in a variety of ways. Many volunteers as a mentor to current Honors students, some serve on the Honors Alumni Board, many attend Honors events, others volunteer as guest speakers or participate in the Centralis Scholarship Competition.
Honors students also have a tradition of giving back to the University Honors Program funding such important activities as Honors Scholarships, study abroad funding, and research grants.
Bryan Wieferich, '02, Honors Alumni Board President
