This year 124 Honors students will study abroad!
 
As an Honors student you are strongly enouraged to study abroad too! In fact it is a goal of the Honors Program that most Honors students will study abroad at least once during their time at CMU.

The Honors Program International Study Award 
 
As part of the CMU and Honors Program commitment to international learning and global citizenship, all Honors Program students admitted for Fall 2011 or later, who remain in good standing with the Honors Program, are eligible to receive this Honors Program International Study Award to support participation in a CMU-approved study abroad experience. 
 
This award is of two values* and can be used only once.
 
*Beginning with the second semester of their sophomore year, students who choose to participate in an approved CMU full-term study abroad program, including summer full-term programs, will be eligible to receive a $2,000 award.
 
*Beginning with the second semester of their sophomore year, students who choose to participate in an array of CMU sponsored international short-term programs are eligible for a $1,000 award.
 
This International Study Award is unique to the CMU Honors and Study Abroad programs among universities in the region, reflects the recognition that international experiences are transformative for student learnin, significantly advances the academic and professional success of our students, and helps to internationalize our CMU Culture.
 
Additional funding:
In addition to the Honors Program International Study Award, the Honors Program also subsidizes Honors faculty-led Honors courses abroad to help keep costs down for students enrolling in these courses.
