Once your data has been entered into OFIS, obtaining a hard copy of the data is a simple process. There are several methods to generate reports, but the fastest and easiest way is to click the "Rapid Reports" tab on the lower right of the OFIS interface (Figure 1). A menu will slide up from the bottom of the screen. Select your report, date range, and format (Microsoft Word, Adobe PDF, or HTML), and then click the "RUN REPORT" button. A dialogue box will appear, and your report will be available for download. Rapid Reports will remember what you selected next time you log in.

Ad Hoc and Custom Reports
Occasionally, you may need more flexibility when generating a report. For example, if you want to limit the report by college or department, the "Rapid Reports" option does not allow you to do this. Fortunately, there are other options. On the left side of the screen, in addition to the "Manage Your Activities" option, there are two other menu items of importance: "Run Ad Hoc Reports" and "Run Custom Reports".
- Ad Hoc Reports are useful when you want to view the raw data contained within a report. Ad Hoc reports will likely be of little use to most faculty. Data from ad hoc reports is usually not formatted in any way, and would not be ready to print.
- Custom Reports are pre-formatted, useful reports that organize the data in a way that is easily understandable. Unless you are an administrator, the custom reports tool is identical to the rapid reports tool.
