Study Abroad Programs works with international organizations that can place students in internships around the world. Follow the link to view the list of countries and possible placements. It is possible to request a full-time internship or a part-time internship combined with coursework. Students will work closely with a study abroad advisor and a faculty advisor to ensure that the internship placement meets CMU requirements. Only internships organized by our partner organizations are approved. Early applications are encouraged to ensure that an appropriate internship can be secured. Please be aware that all international internships are unpaid.

For full-time internships, room is typically provided. Depending on the internship program chosen, accommodations will be in either a shared apartment, hostel, or host family. Meals are usually self-catered. For students participating in a study program with a part-time internship, please refer to the accommodations provided on the program brochure page for that study site.
All internships must be approved for credit. Students work with a faculty advisor in the academic department to request approval for the internship and determine the number of credits to be earned.
