OSA Scholarship In-Kind Service

VolunteerAll recipients of Office of Study Abroad (OSA) scholarships complete in-kind service upon returning from study abroad. If you received an OSA scholarship, you must complete your in-kind hours duirng your first semester back on CMU's campus after studying abroad.

How many service hours are required?
The number of hours of in-kind service depends on your scholarship amount. This should be specified in your scholarship award letter, which you can access on your MyStudyAbroad account.

What activities count as in-kind service?
You can participate in a variety of volunteer opportunities to complete your in-kind service. Some examples include:
  • Writing Stories from Abroad
  • Distributing Flyers
  • Chalking outdoors
  • Information tables
  • Other activities and special events
How do I get started?
Watch for an email from the Office of Study Abroad early in your first semester back on CMU's campus. Attend the scheduled information meeting for scholarship recipients.
