Peer Advisors and Ambassadors


Have you recently returned from studying abroad and want to build on the experience by sharing with other CMU students? Consider applying for our volunteer Study Abroad Peer Advisor Program or our Study Abroad Ambassador Program. Choose the program that best suits your interests and apply by the deadline.

Study Abroad Ambassador Program

The Study Abroad Ambassador Program is a volunteer program for returning study abroad students. The program allows you to share your experiences with other CMU students considering studying abroad. Promote study abroad across CMU's campus through presentations and other outreach activities. Ambassadors are required to attend regularly scheduled Ambassador meetings. 

Commitment required: Minimum 20 hours per semester, for at least one semester

Study Abroad Peer Advisor Program

Study Abroad Peer Advisors meet with CMU students on a walk-in basis to provide general program information and information about the study abroad process. In addition to walk-in advising responsibilities, the Peer Advisors support the Office of Study Abroad staff in preparing students to study abroad. 

Commitment required: Minimum 4-6 hours per week, for at least one year
