Manager of eLearning Delivery & Support
Marnie Roestel is the Manager of eLearning Delivery & Support, a unit committed to providing appropriate support structures and resources for the achievement of successful online teaching and learning.
The Office of Curriculum and Instructional Support is dedicated to providing support to those teaching online as well as ensuring course content and associated learning materials provided, are relevant and up-to-date. In partnership with departments, faculty, and instructional designers, updates to courses are undertaken upon the release of a new edition of the book and to ensure content reflects the current practices, terminology, and technology in use at the University.
Marnie is a proud CMU alum, earning first her bachelor’s degree at the University and, more recently, her Master’s degree. She has been overseeing the delivery of CMU’s online courses and programs since 2009. She created the Online Learning Resource Center to help students new to online learning understand the skills, both learning and technical, needed to be successful learners in the online classroom. She further expanded these student resources by authoring such items as a best practices in eCommunication guide, Group Project Success Tips, Expectations of eLearning information sheet and the Ten Myths of Online Learning. Together with Ming Dai, they created the Designing eLearning Workshop to provide faculty with the resources and information needed to design a high-quality online course. Marnie has presented on online course development and delivery to CMU’s Board of Trustees and Academic Senate, as well as at regional, national and international conferences.
