This 2-day event was inspiring, engaging and empowering for all attendees as they were encouraged to pursue an education and career in information technology, math, science and engineering. Students had the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, and increase their network and knowledge about technology.
Day 1 10:00am – 3:00pm – Bovee UC Rotunda Room
Thursday was open to all CMU students, regardless of gender, who are interested in Technology looking to supercharge and advance their career. Whether they were an experienced professional or a student looking to learn more about STEM fields, this event had great content and where attendees heard women professionals speak enthusiastically, candidly, and personally about the wide range of careers in IT and related fields as they gave career advice and talked about their personal journeys.
Students were encouraged to network with inspiring female leaders in order to be eligible to win door prizes that included one-time scholarships, iPad, fitbit charge 2, and Amazon Gift Cards.
Day 2 10:00am – 3:30pm
Friday was geared toward middle & high school students. It was designed specifically to help younger students, regardless of gender, explore future educational and careers within the technology and leadership fields.
The day included a variety of interactive workshops, guided exploration of related CMU facilities and a panelist discussion where career women and CMU students entertained questions about their careers and education.
