The VPN is used to securely access on-campus resources as though you were directly attached to the CMU network, and is available to current faculty and staff members, as well as students currently enrolled in courses.
The Cisco AnyConnect VPN client supports the following operating systems:
- Windows Vista
- Windows 7
- Windows 8
- Windows 10
- Mac OS X
- Some Linux distributions
- If your Global ID begins with A-M, use sg2.cmich.edu for the server address after installation.
- If your Global ID begins with N-Z, use sg3.cmich.edu for the server address after installation.
For Mac OS X systems, configure the VPN under System Preferences/Network. Create a new VPN network interface with Cisco IPSEC. Use sg2.cmich.edu for the server address and your CMU Global ID and password for the Account Name and Password.
