LISTSERV lists are electronic mailing lists that allow you to reach a particular group of people by sending only one email that is distributed to all the email addresses on the particular list. CMU provides LISTSERV lists for valid CMU departments, registered student organizations (RSO's), faculty, and students.

Requesting a new LISTSERV list

Before requesting a list, do the following:
  1. Read the IT Computing and Network Resources Policy.
  2. Read the LISTSERV manuals and documentation.
  3. Complete the new LISTSERV list request form. Note that to access this form, you will be required to authenticate using your global UserID and password.
  4. Carefully read the instructions that you are sent when your list is created.

Requesting changes to existing LISTSERV lists

For existing list change requests, contact the Help Desk at (989) 774-3662.

Using Human Resources and Faculty Personal Services LISTSERV lists

There are strict criteria for sending messages to HR and FPS LISTSERV lists. If you have HR / FPS LISTSERV questions, contact Mary Lou Morey x1605 or Cheryl Strandskov in the Human Resources Office at x6447. Also please read the LISTSERV Policy.
