Office of Information Technology

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides a number of core services to CMU faculty, staff, and students.
Support for all technology services is provided through an extended hours Help Desk, which runs both nights and weekends. Personal devices are also supported, including heavily discounted cell phone services and computer repair services.


  • Complete wireless 802.11A/G/N coverage in all campus buildings
  • 60% of the centralized infrastructure has been virtualized
  • 100% of classrooms mediated, with a response time on service calls under 10 minutes
  • Over 2,500 student workstations available across campus
