Dr. Pei-Ju Liu is an instructional designer for the Center for Instructional Design. She has over a decade of experience in online learning, teaching, instructional design & training. She works closely with faculty and subject matter experts to analyze, design, and develop online courses. She translates needs into simple and effective learning solutions and integrates evaluation feedback for learner centered and data driven design. In addition, she collaborates with departments, administrators, and support services for smooth implementation and transition.
Dr. Liu also develops and facilitates Teaching Online workshop, which is a 4-week online boot camp that allows faculty to experience various aspects of online learning and teaching while hands-on creating materials to enhance an online course. She also provides continuous instructional supports, mentoring, coaching, and consultation to faculty.
Prior to joining CMU, Dr. Liu taught web design and development courses in School of Information Science and Learning Technologies at University of Missouri. She also worked as a user experience researcher and interface designer/developer at University of Missouri Health Care.
Dr. Liu has passion in collaborative digital education, learning analytics, and instructional technologies. She is also interested in examining instructional strategies and design impacts on learning experience and outcome. She always looks forward to opportunities to try and investigate something new.
