We encourage faculty to apply for a variety of funding opportunities offered here at CMU as well as explore external opportunities that we may or may not already be aware of.
For external opportunities, we encourage you to contact the Office for Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP). They offer a wide variety of resources and tools for successful grant-writing and other funding opportunities.

Service Learning - Small Grants
CETL supports Service-Learning as an evidence-based pedagogical tool for integrating the learning objectives of your course with meeting a need in the community. Grants of up to $500 are designed to provide assistance for travel to learn more about Service-Learning or costs associated with integrating Service-Learning into your course. Because CETL’s mission is directed toward assisting faculty, these funds may NOT be used to support student work in the area of service-learning. For more information about these grants please contact CETL.
Grant Support Letters
CETL provides letters of support for grants written by CMU faculty for both internal and external funding. If you are submitting for a grant involving student learning, consider including a letter of support from the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. In the past, these letters have been helpful, as they come from a center that is devoted to student learning and is independent of any college or department. If you would like to request such a letter, please contact CETL.
