We encourage faculty to apply for a variety of funding opportunities offered here at CMU as well as to explore external funding opportunities. For external opportunities, we encourage you to visit the Office of Research and Graduate Studies website, which includes a wide variety of resources and tools for successful grant-writing and other funding opportunities.
Professional Growth Funds
These funds are set aside to foster curricular and course improvement and to assist faculty in developing curriculum and improving their teaching by participating in a field-related event, conference, or professional development activity.
Service-Learning - Small Grants
The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning supports service-learning as an evidence-based pedagogical tool for integrating the learning objectives of your course with meeting a need in the community. Grants of up to $500 are designed to provide assistance for travel to learn more about service-learning or costs associated with integrating service-learning into your course. Because the Center's mission is directed toward assisting faculty, these funds may NOT be used to support student work in the area of service-learning. For more information about these grants please contact the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning
