It doesn't matter if you are a technology junkie or luddite, our instructional technology and design teams are interested in working with you. We are here to assist and guide you toward success.
Here at CMU, "Learning Technologies" is pretty broad area that includes technology tools that include classroom hardware and software, audio/video/media creation, presentation tools, a learning management system, communication tools, and much more. While the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning does not necessarily run or provide all of the support for each of the tools, our goal is to assure that you are using them with a strong pedagogical focus . We partner and collaborate with various entities across the University community as appropriate.
We encourage faculty to bring their issues, ideas, desires, needs, and interests to us. If it makes sense to weave technology into the solution, we can assist you and work together to create a plan of attack that includes quality research, planning, production, integration, support, evaluation, and more.
It is our intention to do whatever we can to assure that everyone involved in a learning technology related integration is enjoying a positive experience.
There are a number of well supported learning technologies already in place to take advantage of in face-to-face, online, and off-campus environments. If you can't find what you're looking for in the list at the right, please contact us to discuss other options. If we don't currently have a tool available to address your needs, we can look into options together.
As necessary and when appropriate, the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning works in close collaboration with the Information Technology Media Production team to create high impact audio and video content.
