The OIT Help Desk is CMU's main provider of technology support to all students, faculty, and staff University-wide, on or off-campus, 7 days a week. If we cannot answer your question, we will find someone that can, and route you to the appropriate department or person.
 
 

Hours of Operation

Please note: hours may vary during holiday breaks, or when classes are not in session.

  • Mon-Thurs: 7 AM to Midnight
  • Friday: 7 AM to 6 PM
  • Saturday: 12 PM to 6 PM
  • Sunday: 12 PM to Midnight

  • Saturday, September 3rd: Closed for Labor Day Holiday Weekend
  • Sunday, September 4th: Closed for Labor Day Holiday Weekend
  • Monday, September 5th: Closed for Labor Day Holiday

2016 ResNet Depots

Open at the start of the fall semester to help on-campus residents get online! Whether you need help registering your computer, phone, or game console, you need help syncing your CMU email on your phone, or you'd like some assistance installing Office 365 onto your computer, there are three on-campus ResNet Depot locations to visit for help!

  • Hours: 12 PM to 8 PM every day, August 20 - 31, 2016
 

 

Personal Device Repair (Techs On-Site 12pm-6pm)

Do you have a computer or mobile device that needs to be fixed? Personal device repair drop-off and pick-up service is available any time walk-in service is available.

A $9 bench fee is charged for initial review, and from there, $36/hour is charged for labor, plus additional costs for any parts as necessary. Charges are billed to your CMU account. For more thorough information regarding the nature of any potential repair, technicians are available on-site Monday through Friday from 12pm to 6pm. Please note, Help Desk employees and on-site Technical Services technicians will help facilitate the drop-off repair service, but are not equipped to provide extensive repair services while you wait.

 
 

On-Campus Network Device Status and Registration

You can register additional devices on the network (like phones or game consoles) or check your on-campus bandwidth usage by reviewing your network device status.
