The OIT Help Desk is CMU's main provider of technology support to all students, faculty, and staff University-wide, on or off-campus, 7 days a week. If we cannot answer your question, we will find someone that can, and route you to the appropriate department or person.

Common Technical Assistance Topics (and Solutions!)
Personal Device Repair (Techs On-Site 12pm-6pm)
Do you have a
that needs to be fixed? Personal device repair drop-off and pick-up service is available any time walk-in service is available.
A $9 bench fee is charged for initial review, and from there, $36/hour is charged for labor, plus additional costs for any parts as necessary. Charges are billed to your CMU account.
For more thorough information regarding the nature of any potential repair, technicians are available on-site Monday through Friday from 12pm to 6pm
. Please note, Help Desk employees and on-site Technical Services technicians will help facilitate the drop-off repair service, but are not equipped to provide extensive repair services while you wait.
