Maker Spaces

Audio and Video can be powerful tools for enhancing teaching and learning. To support CMU’s educators’ effort to produce valuable, high-quality media, the Office of Curriculum and Instructional Support is pleased to provide access to our suite of Media Maker Spaces. 

Meeting spaces

The Office of Curriculum and Instructional Support has three self-booking meeting spaces for faculty and staff to utilize throughout the year. The rooms accommodate varying numbers of participants and are well-equipped for in-person and virtual experiences. These spaces are available during our regular business hours, Monday through Friday; 8am – 5pm.

413D – Classroom 

This teaching and learning space can comfortably accommodate up to 30 people and is well-equipped for in-person and virtual experiences.  

413B – Conference room 

This 12-seat meeting space is located adjacent to the front desk/reception area and is well-equipped for in-person and virtual experiences. 

413R – Meeting room 

This gathering space can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people and is well-equipped for in-person and virtual experiences. 

Considerations

As the Office of Curriculum and Instructional Support's mission is to promote and facilitate student learning through research-based professional development opportunities for faculty, CIS events and those serving faculty-specific needs will receive priority if scheduling conflicts arise. 

Though our staff is committed to providing a high-quality experience for all constituents, please understand that we cannot guarantee staff availability to provide logistical or technical support for your use of this space.  A user manual is provided for reference.  It is the responsibility of the presenter/meeting owner to familiarize themselves with the space in advance, to make arrangements for early arrival or special accommodations (e.g., catering, non-CMU guests, etc.).  

If you encounter any technical difficulty using the in-room equipment, please contact the Help Desk.  If you have logistical questions or require other assistance, please consult the front desk staff in person, email CIS or call 989-774-3615. 

*The Office of Curriculum and Instructional Support's classroom is a multi-use space.  Computers are sometimes in place on tables around the room's perimeter to accommodate its many uses, reducing seating capacity and limit furniture arrangement options.
