Boston’s best burger gains Garrison Fenway fame

Joe Garrison, associate director of financial planning and budgets, was a familiar face at Fenway Park in Boston this weekend. The Boston Red Sox had a best burger competition and Joe won.

His culinary grand slam earned Joe and his wife a trip to Boston for Saturday's game, an on-air interview with the broadcast crew, jerseys and a promotional prize package. Plus, Joe's photo with his burger adorned the menu at Fenway Park.

"I love the Red Sox and going to Fenway has always been on my bucket list so this was the best way to experience it," said Garrison. "Seeing my picture up on the menu board with my name and Mount Pleasant, Michigan on there was great.

"We toured the ballpark and received some great tickets for the game. They loaded us up with promotional merchandise and presented us with customized authentic Red Sox home jerseys to commemorate the experience."

The winning recipe: one-third pound choice beef burger with an 80/20 grind of beef to fat, zesty bbq sauce, pulled pork, applewood smoked bacon, pepper jack cheese and fresh coleslaw on top.
