Central Michigan University’s Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures and Cultures will host more than 1,200 high school students Friday for its 42nd annual Foreign Language Day competition
Please extend a warm greeting or offer directions to our guests if you see them on campus. Many of the high school teachers and parent chaperones are CMU alums.
Students from high schools throughout Michigan visit CMU each spring to compete in song, dance, poetry/interpretive reading, skit, cultural displays, and poster competitions in foreign languages.
Morning competitions take place in Pearce and Anspach halls and Warriner Hall’s Plachta Auditorium followed by lunch in a residential restaurant. The afternoon events include performances and award presentations in Plachta Auditorium.
