Biography
The University Ombudsperson position was established for students, staff, and faculty who seek guidance regarding concerns, issues, conflicts, or problems that may arise in the pursuit of their educational, residential, and co-curricular endeavors, or in the enactment of their professional duties. The Ombuds is a facilitative resource, helping to foster a positive campus climate in accordance with CMU’s institutional objectives and Leadership Standards, while maintaining the profession’s standards of confidentiality, impartiality, informality, and independence. The Ombuds serves as an upward feedback mechanism regarding trends, issues, and systemic matters. The Ombuds may also recommend for the review and refinement of policies, processes, and protocols.
