Biography

Summer is the Executive Secretary for Native American Programs, Student Transition Enrichment Program, LGBTQ Services and Gender Equity Programs, and Institute for Transformative Dialogue at Central Michigan University. She has worked at Central Michigan University since 2019 serving in an office support capacity providing budget maintenance, calendaring, overseeing student staff, and event and program assistance. She has had the experience of working as an administrative office professional for over 15 years in various industries, from education, legal, and more recently hospitality. Some career roles include Interim Sales Director and Sales Manager of Shoshone-Bannock Hotel and Event Center and Office Manager at Echo Hawk Law Offices. She is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Science, Major in Organizational Leadership and accelerated Master of Science in Administration at CMU. Summer is from Southeastern Idaho. She is an enrolled citizen of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes and descends from the Wiihiinite (Agai Dika and Duku Dika), Bahnite’h and Southern Sierra Miwuk. Summer and her partner, Aaron, have a blended family with 8 children. She enjoys family, cultural events, dancing (most favorite Powwow and Zumba), somewhat of a foodie, and taking in the beauty of mother earth.
