“A lot of people think RAs are like the police, but that’s not the case. Our biggest thing is student success – both academic and emotional.”
“Embrace the awkward. When you come from a familiar area like your hometown, there’s going to be a lot of awkward situations when you come to CMU. Be open-minded to new experiences because they’re both challenging and strengthening.”
“An athletic training class I took was easily the hardest I’ve ever taken. I want to go into physical therapy, so it was right up my alley, but it included everything about what muscles do and where to find them. What was really different about this class was that you had to find the muscles on human partners instead of on diagrams. It was extremely difficult, but I learned an immense amount of knowledge from it.”
“At CMU, you’re a person – not a number. Wherever you’re going, there’s someone who might know your name. You aren’t just a number to pass through and graduate. You’re here to grow.”
“I’m trying my best to positively influence as many people as I can. That can be through giving people my time, talking with them and helping them out, or through being a role model.”
