Leadership Camp

The Leadership Camp Staff, as well as the Office of Residence Life, are thrilled you have taken the time to learn about our amazing program! You will discover what Leadership Camp is all about and why you should attend the first of many exciting opportunities Central Michigan University has to offer YOU on your journey as a CMU Chippewa.

You will spend time with the brightest, most energetic, and most promising group of new students of your graduating class! Upperclass students at CMU with extensive leadership experience will serve as facilitators for your group. They will help you explore the Social Change Model of Leadership Development and motivate you to become involved in leadership opportunities even before you attend your first class on campus. You will also discover many of the warm, wonderful traditions in place at Central Michigan University. Your group may even develop new traditions to share with future leaders at CMU!

Leadership Camp 2021 will either be in person or virtual depending on the state of the pandemic and policies of the university. Join us either in person May 16-18 or May 21-23, or virtually May 17, 19, or 21. Camp is offered to admitted CMU students for fall 2021 and high school juniors who are considering CMU as their school of choice.

Conference fee

A $125 (in-person) or $50 (virtual) conference fee is required to reserve your space. See our Cancellation and Fee Waiver Policies for answers to those questions.

The mission of Leadership Camp is to guide you in your exploration of
the Social Change Model of Leadership Development in a fun and
interactive way, engaging you in a collaborative change process that
empowers you to make a positive impact on CMU and the broader community.
Camp will enhance your understanding of yourself and how you can
effectively contribute to a group working on behalf of society.

also familiarizes you with campus, resources, and opportunities. We are
