Residence Housing Association

What is RHA?

Residence Housing Association is a student organization through Residence Life that provides a voice for residents who live in on-campus housing. RHA provides a platform that allows these students to voice their concerns and opinions and attend educational and social programming like our annual DREAM conference. RHA provides countless leadership opportunities to better the lives of our on-campus students.

Weekly meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. on Mondays in French Auditorium located in the Education and Human Services Building and virtually based on CMU safety guidelines.

Preamble

We, the students in Residence Housing Association, recognizing the importance of unity within the residential communities of Central Michigan University and the active representation of the interests, concerns and issues of each resident, and the social, cultural, and community atmosphere within each residential community, do hereby ordain this constitution of Residence Housing Association.

How do I get involved?

If you are a student living in on-campus housing, you are automatically part of RHA. Meetings can be attended by anyone. Each residential community and their hall/community council is required to have a specific number of representatives that are voting members. Councils typically elect their executive board members at the beginning of each school year, though vacancies may happen throughout the year.

Elections for the RHA executive board positions are held in the middle of spring semester for the approaching academic year with vacant positions filled in the fall. Ask your council president and RHA representatives to find out when these elections are taking place.
