Freshman Parking Information

A freshman is defined as a student having 25 or fewer earned credit hours.

Resident parking permits are distributed to sophomores, juniors and seniors on a first-come basis. All freshmen will be assigned to the Maroon lots (63, 70 and 75) located south of their residence halls.

When students with Maroon permits need to load/unload their vehicle at their residence hall, they can stop into the Parking Services office to obtain a free 1-hour loading/unloading permit. This will allow the Maroon permitted students to have closer parking for one hour while loading/unloading. 

If it is outside of Parking Services business hours, CMU Police Dispatch is able to issue a loading/unloading permit 24/7.
