What is Lean Six Sigma?


Lean Six Sigma is a quality standardization process based on data-driven decisions. It blends the methodology of Six Sigma with the principles of Lean Manufacturing to provide a comprehensive approach to performance improvement.

Why should I get certified?


When it comes to finding a job, being Lean Six Sigma certified will make you stand out from the competition. It demonstrates that you have a clear understanding of risk assessment and financial management which are highly valued employers. This can lead to better job offers and higher salaries.

How much prior knowledge do I need?


You must have completed a business statistics course (STA 282/382) to be eligible for registration. In addition, you must supply the following academic information on your application:

Business Majors

Required: completion of a statistics course

Recommended:

  • Junior class standing
  • Admission to BSBA Degree
  • Completion of Integrated Core

Business Minors

Required: Completion of a statistics course

Recommended: majority completion of the 8 courses required for a business minor.

Graduate Business Students

Required: completion of a statistics course

When will the workshops be available and how much will it cost?


Workshop sessions are offered semiannually with one session after the Fall semester ends and several sessions after the Spring semester ends.

Green Belt

Workshop Fee: $350

Additional Cost: $100 textbook available at the CMU Bookstore

Yellow Belt

Workshop Fee: $200

Additional Cost: $100 textbook available at the CMU Bookstore

What is the refund policy?


Refunds for cancellations are available only before the workshop has started. Refunds will not be allowed after the first day of the workshop.
