Mathematics Graduate Internships

All Ph.D. students in the Department of Mathematics are required to take either six credit hours of teaching internship.

Criterion

  • For students in the Ph.D. program: After passing all required qualifying exams.

Timeline

  • Teaching Internships for Ph.D. students: It is suggested students sign up for the teaching internship the semester immediately following the passing of required qualifying exams. Students can sign up for only one teaching internship course per semester. Detailed policy and procedure are given in the Internship Handbook.

  • The following Handbook and forms provide details about how and when to apply for internships as well the departmental and university policies for taking internships at CMU. Students are required to carefully read the Handbook and follow the process to complete the internship credit requirements.
