About International Student and Scholar Services

We work hard to ensure that international students and scholars experience an easy transition while at CMU. Our staff is dedicated to assisting students and faculty with specific advising appointments, answering immigration questions, inviting international scholars to campus, and providing links to our rich international community through cultural programs and events.​

We provide:

Our Mission

The International Student and Scholar Services unit within the Office of Global Engagement advocates for the international community at Central Michigan University.

By welcoming international students, scholars, faculty and staff to CMU we work to secure their success at CMU while supporting and educating the international community on compliance with immigration regulations, cultural awareness, and acclimation to education within the United States. We collaborate with key units across campus to ensure the international community is able to make the most of their educational experiences at CMU.

We are also a resource for the wider CMU community to facilitate international cultural exchange and understanding.
