Below is an incomplete list of occasions when Central Michigan University canceled operations due to weather, public health emergencies, or other causes.​ This list does not include cancelations of extra-curricular or athletics events, when the University was still operating. Please contact the Clarke if you know of any other campus cancelations.

Spring-Summer 2020​
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, all on-campus classes transitioned to online learning on March 16. Some on-campus classes resumed on June 29 (Summer II). Fall semester classes resumed on campus August 17. Most CMU employees worked remotely from March 23 through June 15, when a phased return to working on campus began.​ A hybrid class model was implemented in fall 2020 and used during the 2020-21 academic year.
