Our vision

"Community engagement is the collaboration between institutions of higher education and their larger communities (local, regional, state, national, and global) for the mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and resources in a context of partnership and reciprocity."  (Ahmed et al., 2017)

Community engagement in The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions includes:

• Community-based research and scholarship
• Community-centered education and clinical care
• Community service and volunteerism

Our partners

The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions partners with over 800 clinical, educational, social service, government, business, and other agencies in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, the United States, and around the world.  We are proud to recognize Spectrum Health West Michigan and Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation as our 2022 Outstanding Community Partners.
