MI GEAR UP program serves more than 1,200 students in seven schools with the goal of providing information and encouraging students to graduate and go on to college prepared to succeed. The grant opportuny is designed to help first generation and low income students prepare for college success.
MI GEAR UP will coordinate programs, services, and resources to lower barriers preventing students from pursuing postsecondary educational opportunities. It is a seven year project beginning with 7th grade students, following them through to graduation. MI GEAR UP will serve nearly 10,000 low-income, underrepresented students in 49 school districts throughout the State of Michigan.
