Early childhood majors

    A child's earliest years play a tremendous role in determining what's to come. Work with children and caring mentors as you turn theory to practice. When you graduate, you'll be ready to lead children to lifelong success in Head Start programs, preschools and child care centers.

    This program provides the widest range of ages you can teach along with the most diversity in teaching environments. Prepare to teach ages between birth and third-grade, in settings such as childcare, preschool, pre-kindergarten through third-grade classrooms, and home settings.

    Prepare to address the needs of the whole child by establishing a supportive, engaging environment that fosters learning. Those certified to teach in the Pk-3 band are qualified to teach in pre-kindergarten classrooms to grade 3.
