The official case for Boss the Boardroom, the final round of CMU’s inaugural Boss Games competition, is now available.

Titled Strategic Decisions at Iris Robin Healthcare: The Business of Keeping Michigan Healthy, the case challenges student teams to step into the role of consulting firms advising a fictional nonprofit health system serving communities across Michigan.

In this board-level scenario, teams must evaluate major strategic investments designed to strengthen workforce stability, expand access to care and protect long-term financial sustainability.

Developed in collaboration with healthcare leaders at MyMichigan Health, the case reflects the real tradeoffs confronting health systems across the state. Participants are not solving a simplified classroom exercise. They are navigating the kind of disciplined financial analysis, operational realities and difficult choices that executive boards face every day.

Student teams will present their recommendations to industry leaders on March 20.

The case is now publicly available. Curious how you would advise the board? Read the case and test your strategy.
