Central Michigan University is delaying operations on its main campus and the CMU North building in Mount Pleasant until 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 28, due to icy conditions. This means the university is closed until 11 a.m. — in-person and online synchronous classes scheduled to begin before that time are canceled and classes that begin at 11 a.m. or later will take place as scheduled; online asynchronous classes should not be affected by this delay.

In addition, all offices, buildings and events are closed or canceled with the exception of residence halls. Employees who work in 24-hour operations or whose services may be needed during the closure should check with their supervisor for specific instructions relative to reporting to work. Faculty and staff who have the ability to work remotely may do so as directed by their supervisor. Class and work activities previously scheduled for remote instruction/work will continue.

A decision on the status of the operation of the university beyond 11 a.m. will be made by 9 a.m. For the latest information, please monitor the CMU Facebook and CMU Twitter pages, the CMU Information Line at 989-774-7500, visit cmich.edu, and regularly check your cmich.edu email.
