Central Michigan University and the CMU Supervisory-Technical Association today announced the ratification of a new three-year collective bargaining agreement. The ratification followed voting by members of the ST/MEA on July 8.

The STA, representing more than 80 members of the bargaining unit, is affiliated with the Michigan Education Association and National Education Association.

Members of the Supervisory-Technical Association and CMU administrators met seven times during the months of May, June and July in formal bargaining sessions. The new agreement includes wage increases each year for the next three years and benefit contributions on the same basis as the university’s professional and administrative staff.

“Throughout all our meetings and working through the process both CMU and the ST/MEA Bargaining Team worked well together to come up with an equitable agreement,” said Joel Honaman, director of employee and labor relations. “Both teams spent a lot of time to assure language is up to date with current processes and organized in a fashion to assure everyone can locate the information they are looking for and have a true understanding of its interpretation.”

The agreement is effective for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and lasts through June 30, 2029.
