Interim Dean of The Herbert H. & Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions, Dr. Gregory Zimmer, was appointment to the Public Health Advisory Council by Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

"I’m honored to have been appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to serve on the State of Michigan Public Health Advisory Council. I’m grateful for the Governor’s leadership and for the opportunity to contribute to advancing public health across our state," Dr. Zimmerman stated.

The Council is charged with addressing emerging public health issues, monitoring Michigan’s response systems, and promoting collaboration across agencies. I’m especially proud to represent Michigan’s schools of public health—bringing the voice of education, research, and future public health leaders to the table.

Dr. Zimmerman is looking forward to working with colleagues across the state to strengthen our public health infrastructure and ensure a healthier, more equitable Michigan for all.
