Open Forums set for Chief of Police finalists

Candidates to visit campus this week

The Central Michigan University community will have the opportunity to meet with finalists in the search for the next Chief of Police. Following a national search, four candidates have been invited to campus to meet with university stakeholders and attend open forums.

Members of the university community are invited to meet the candidates, learn about their backgrounds, and hear about their interest in this leadership position during the following forums:

Thursday, June 5 – Cameron Wassman

  • 9:45-10:45 a.m.
  • Strosacker Room, Park Library 110

Wassman is currently serving the Central Michigan University community as a Lieutenant. He coordinates the Emergency Management Program, is the Clery Compliance Officer and supervises dispatch, officers, student employees, and staff. Wassman earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Lake Superior State University and his Master of Public Administration from Central Michigan University.

Friday, June 6 – Kevin Williams

Williams currently serves in a consulting role with Dolores Stafford and Associates, specializing in campus safety, and Healy+ Consulting, specializing in law enforcement leadership. He has served as Interim Chief and Director of Campus Security and Emergency Management at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles and Interim Director of Police/Chief of Police at Vermont Capitol Police Department. Williams received his Bachelor of Arts and Associate of Arts in Law Enforcement/Corrections from Mercy College of Detroit and his Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. 

Thursday, June 12 – Michael Morrow

Morrow currently serves as Lieutenant and Interim Chief of Police at Central Michigan University. He supervises the Uniformed Road Patrol, Dispatch, and Investigative Divisions, and coordinates Departmental Training and Internal Investigations/Citizen Complaints. Morrow graduated from Kirtland Regional Police Academy and earned his Associate Degree in Law Enforcement from Mid-Michigan Community College. 

Friday, June 13 – Nicholas Kehoe

  • 9:45-10:45 a.m.
  • Lake Huron and Lake St. Clair Rooms, Bovee UC 307-309

Kehoe currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Police at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and Public Safety Department. He is responsible for compliance, including the Clery Act and CALEA accreditation. He supervises daily law enforcement activities, including patrol, investigations, and emergency response. Kehoe received his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University, his Graduate Certificate in Criminal Justice Education, and his Master of Public Safety from the University of Virginia.
