Plante Moran shares opportunities for aspiring professionals
Accounting, consulting, and wealth management firm highlights career paths for students
Students in Grawn Hall recently connected with recruiters from Plante Moran.
Founded in 1924, Plante Moran has grown into one of the largest accounting, consulting, and advisory firms in the United States. Headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, the firm serves clients in industries including healthcare, manufacturing, real estate, and financial services. Known for its strong client relationships, the company offers services in audit, tax, consulting, and wealth management, with a presence that extends both nationally and internationally.
Roles for students and graduates
Plante Moran provides a range of opportunities for students to begin their careers. Internships are available to sophomores, juniors, and seniors, and the firm also recruits for entry-level, full-time positions for graduating students who are pursuing the CPA track. Areas of focus include audit, tax management, consulting, and wealth management.
“We are currently looking for students with a background in accounting and finance,” said Abby Spickard, campus recruiting senior consultant at Plante Moran for Central Michigan University. “We are also looking for students who are enrolled into 150 credit hours who are pursuing CPA, CFP, and CFA.”
Why students should connect
Spickard emphasized the value of connecting with Plante Moran early in a student’s career.
“Students need to connect with Plante Moran, since it is a mid-level firm and provides good exposure for entry-level positions and gives opportunities to gain hands-on experience in audit, and other services across diverse industries,” she said. “With a strong culture of growth, we provide a supportive environment for career development and professional success.”
How to connect
For students who were unable to meet Plante Moran during their campus visit, several options remain open.
“The best way to connect with Plante Moran, in case if you missed them at the university, [is] to reach out through the firm’s career website which provides the open roles available at the firm,” Nathan Ferguson, Assurance Senior at Plante Moran said. Handshake is also a recommended way to reach out to Plante Moran, since it directly connects with the firms’ recruiting team. “Also, you could reach out to Abby through LinkedIn,” Ferguson added.
