University Engagement and Student Affairs seeks talented leaders
Search committees named for three key positions
Central Michigan University Vice President for the Division of University Engagement and Student Affairs Shawna Patterson-Stephens has appointed committees to assist in the searches for three positions crucial to the division and CMU’s success.
The positions and committees associated with each search are:
Associate Vice President of University Engagement
The Associate Vice President of University Engagement serves on the Vice President’s Executive Leadership team acting as a direct liaison to faculty, staff, students, community members and counterparts at other institutions. The AVPUE also participates in an executive on-call rotation for emergencies and attends meetings/events representing the VP and special projects.

- Cleamon (Clem) Moorer, fixed-term faculty member, Entrepreneurship Department.
- Matt Franklin, regional manager, U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin.
- Jaiden Cregger, student.
Associate Vice President of Student Affairs
Serving on the Vice President's Executive Leadership team, the Associate Vice President of Student Affairs applies best practices in college student affairs. They liaison directly with faculty, staff, students and the community, participate in an executive on-call rotation for emergencies, and represent the Vice President at meetings and on special projects.

- Tracy Davis, associate professor of educational linguistics, Department of English Language and Literature.
- Alejandro (Alex) Gradilla, assistant director of Latinx/Hispanic American Student Engagement, Office of Multicultural Academic Student Services.
- Sarah Marshall, professor of counseling, educational leadership and higher education, Department of Counseling, Educational Leadership and Higher Education.
- Kennedy Butler, student.
Executive Director of Residence Life
The Executive Director of Residence Life provides visionary leadership for residence life, aligning priorities with institutional goals for student engagement, retention and academic success. This role leads a dynamic team with a humanistic approach, fostering trust, collaboration and innovation. The Executive Director collaborates closely with other University Engagement and Student Affairs units like Auxiliary Services and CMU Police, supporting broader community efforts and working with the Associate Vice President of University Engagement on CMU CARES initiatives for overall student achievement.

- Andrew (Andy) Reihl, director of university engineering and planning, Combined Services.
- Andrea Roggenbuck, director of CMU Cares, Office of Residence Life.
- Akua Acheampong, student.
The search will be conducted over the course of the summer and will be supported by Central Michigan University Human Resources and the Office of Civil Rights and Institutional Equity. Cali Clark, director of employment services, will serve as the human resources representative for all three searches.
