CBA students place 2nd in sales contest
CMU team among ten competing in final round of national AT&T event
A team of Central Michigan University students from the
College of Business Administration placed second among 10 teams in the final round of the AT&T Sales Competition in Dallas, Texas, earlier this month.
Each of the six team members received a $1,000 scholarship, and the team received $5,000 to fund sales-related projects targeting CMU students.
For the competition, the students were asked to solve the needs of a company by presenting a solution using AT&T products, answering questions and closing the deal.
Josh Statly, a senior marketing major with a professional sales concentration, summed up the value of the competition in one sentence: “Our team was able to gain experience with team selling in a professional setting, which gives us an edge when seeking a career.”
