Central Michigan University and Delta College have established a new 3+1 transfer pathway for students pursuing CMU’s Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership. An official signing ceremony was held at Delta College’s Main Campus on June 22 with officials from both institutions in attendance.

Through the agreement, students may complete up to 90 credit hours at Delta College before transitioning to CMU to complete the final 30 credits in the fully online Organizational Leadership program. The pathway is designed to reduce cost barriers, simplify transfer planning and give students a clear route from an associate degree to a bachelor’s degree.

“This is yet another example of Delta College and Central Michigan University working together to build meaningful, affordable and accessible pathways for student success,” said Paula Lancaster, provost and executive vice president at CMU. “This partnership gives students the confidence of knowing how their coursework applies toward their degree from the very beginning.”

CMU’s Organizational Leadership program helps students build competencies that are in the highest demand by employers across industries, including skills in leadership, communication, organizational effectiveness, coaching, and cultural intelligence.

“This partnership reflects the evolving needs of Michigan’s students. Today's learners are often balancing careers, families, military service and countless responsibilities while pursuing their educational goals,” said Dr. Kaleb Patrick, vice president for CMU Innovation and Online. “Through CMU Online, the Organizational Leadership completion program gives students the flexibility to earn a highly respected CMU bachelor’s degree without putting their lives or careers on hold.”

The agreement builds on CMU and Delta College’s broader partnership to create more seamless transfer opportunities and support degree completion for students throughout the region.

“Flexible pathways like this are especially important for adult learners and students who need education designed around real life,” Patrick said. “We are excited to continue expanding student-centered opportunities that help learners achieve their educational goals while strengthening communities and Michigan’s workforce.”

Students interested in the Organizational Leadership 3+1 pathway should connect with Delta College advising or CMU Online for academic planning and transfer guidance.
