Grad student wins fellowship

Apparel association honors Lauren Agnew’s ‘outstanding potential and commitment’

​Lauren Agnew, a student in the master’s degree program in apparel product development and merchandising technology, has been selected to receive the International Textiles and Apparel Association’s Sara Douglas Fellowship for Professional Promise.

mug-Agnew_Headshot[1]“This is a prestigious recognition made by the ITAA for her outstanding potential and commitment to the textile and apparel industry,” said human environmental studies faculty member Seung-Eun “Joy” Lee.

In November, Agnew will attend the ITAA conference in Cleveland, Ohio, to present her research in building a sustainable retail store and receive the award.

Agnew currently is finishing her coursework and working under Lee’s supervision on her thesis project utilizing eye-tracking technology.

Agnew hopes to become a professor teaching apparel-related fields at a major university.
