Social Studies teachers and future social studies teachers practiced hands-on, classroom-ready activities during a professional development opportunity at Central Michigan University in April.

The Social Studies Education program hosted Lesley Mace, the Outreach Senior Advisor from the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She led activities for 35 participants to learn more about bringing economics and personal finance lessons to life with infographics and hands-on activities. They covered topics ranging from economic indicators and the Fed to personal finance basics.

The event was free and open to all CMU social studies teacher candidates as well as area teachers. The Federal Reserve provided lunch and attendees also received free educational materials, including the infographics used in the workshop.
