Due to the extended time off around Thanksgiving, we're featuring events from the past two weeks. Here are some of the top photos from Central Michigan University events and activities from Nov. 13-26 as captured by University Communications.
With a focus on the future, Central Michigan University’s 15th president, Robert O. Davies, delivered the 2023 State of the University Address on Thursday, November 16, in Plachta Auditorium. Former Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez visited CMU on Saturday, November 19, where she spoke in front of an audience of students, staff, faculty, and community members in Plachta Auditorium. Laurie Hernandez rose to fame when she made the US Olympic Gymnastics Team at only 16 years old, where she earned an individual silver medal on the balance beam and helped secure the gold medal for Team USA. For a third straight year, CMU's "We Do" float was a part of America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Gardner White in Detroit. Members of the CMU community marched alongside the CMU float as it made its way through Downtown Detroit. Central Michigan alumni cheer for CMU’s float as it passes by the CMU grandstands.
