CMU faculty member co-edits timely handbook on AI and strategic communication
Dr. Elina Erzikova is helping to lead the global conversation about AI
As artificial intelligence continues to reshape the way people connect, inform and persuade, CMU faculty member Dr. Elina Erzikova is helping to lead the global conversation. She co-edited the Handbook of Innovations in Strategic Communication: AI, Futurism and Directions with Shannon A. Bowen, bringing together leading international scholars to explore how technological advances are transforming communication, ethics and society.
The volume examines how AI-driven innovation challenges traditional approaches to strategic communication while improving organizational effectiveness and ethical leadership. Topics range from transhumanism and counterintelligence to crisis response, emotional intelligence and responsibility in the digital age.
“This handbook invites scholars and practitioners to think critically and creatively about how our field can proactively shape its own future,” Erzikova said.
The book serves as a vital resource for students, researchers and communication professionals seeking to understand and navigate the ethical and practical implications of emerging technologies in strategic communication.
