CMU recertified by National College Testing Association
CMU achieves national status for excellence in testing practices
Central Michigan University’s Certified Testing Center has completed an intensive recertification process with the National College Testing Association. The recertification takes effect immediately and extends five years.
In a press release issued by the NCTA, CMU was recognized for having “set the bar high for other post-secondary test centers and has achieved national status in excellent teaching practices.”
CMU’s Certified Testing Center, part of the Office of Curriculum and Instructional Support, is the northernmost testing center in the Lower Peninsula and serves CMU students, as well as students in communities throughout mid-Michigan and northern Michigan. The CTC offers online proctored exams, CLEP tests, proctoring for national standardized and certification testing, the CMU Math Competency Exam, proctoring for make-up exams for CMU courses, and testing for Student Disability Services.
In its release, NCTA extended congratulations to Kathy Lesica-Gardner, coordinator of the Certified Testing Center, and the CTC staff for “maintaining high test administration standards and for providing excellent service to a wide variety of students and community members in the performance of their duties.”
CMU is one of approximately 650 colleges and universities certified by the NCTA, which promotes professionalism and high-quality service in the administration of testing programs. The CMU Certified Testing Center is located in Park Library on CMU’s Mount Pleasant campus.
