CMU to host National Cybersecurity Awareness Month Conference
Business Information Systems Department invites students to connect with cybersecurity experts
In recognition of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, CMU’s Business Information Systems Department will host a virtual Cybersecurity Conference Friday, October 28, 2022 from 9am - 3pm. The conference will address the growing demand for cybersecurity professionals as technology and data collection systems become more advanced.
Conference attendees will hear from a variety of cybersecurity professionals in various industries including military, finance, healthcare, and government.
The conference features two keynote speakers. Director of Cyber Defense for Dow Inc., Jeremy Hyland, will give the opening keynote address on the future of cyber defense. Additionally, Tiauna Ross, Director, Digital Cybersecurity Operations for Stryker and Suganya Sivakumar, Digital Cybersecurity Operations Manager for Stryker will deliver the second keynote address on opportunities and risks for cybersecurity within the cloud.
Anyone who is interested in cybersecurity is invited to attend. Several informational sessions with experts in the cybersecurity field will be available. Attendees will learn about important industry practices, emerging trends, and other prospects within cybersecurity from members of organizations such as the FBI, Ford Motor Company, and Beaumont Health.
