Dr. Jodi Brookins-Fisher, Public Health professor in the School of Health Sciences within The Herbert H. & Grace A Dow College of Health Professions (CHP), was elected to the National Board of the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) beginning March 20, 2024.  Dr. Brookins-Fisher will serve as a Trustee, At-Large for a two-year term.

SOPHE is a nonprofit, professional organization that represents a diverse membership of health promotion and health education professionals and students internationally. Its vision—a healthy world through health education—is pertinent within CHP, as educators like Dr. Brookins-Fisher provide education to enhance the skills of students to build healthy lifestyles and communities.

Dr. Brookins-Fisher has been a member of SOPHE since 1996 and has been a Health Education Specialist for more than for thirty years.  “I’m super excited to contribute as a board member in the national organization that I’ve considered my professional home for 35 years. This is an opportunity to keep CMU students connected to those at every level within our profession,” stated Dr. Brookins-Fisher.
