In memoriam: Christopher Baxter
Longtime staff member was known for being willing to help others
Christopher Baxter, a longtime facilities management employee, passed away Sunday, July 30.
Chris will be remembered for his positive attitude and willingness to help others. He first joined the Central Michigan University community in December 2000 as a police dispatcher before becoming a member of the building services team, as a custodian in March 2012 where he worked for the remainder of his employment.
His supervisor mentioned, “On several occasions I witnessed students shaking Chris’ hand and thanking him for his military service, which Chris was very proud of.”
Another colleague shared, “Chris always had a smile on his face and was willing to help his fellow colleagues. He will be deeply missed.”
He is survived by his wife, Cyndi; his children, Nolan Baxter and Levi Baxter; his parents, Bob and Sue, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. An official obituary with information about a memorial service is available through Berry Funeral Home.
