©Zebra Mane, oil on canvas, 48” x 72” 2022, Taurus BurnsThe campus and surrounding community members are invited to join us for an Artist Talk featuring Taurus Burns, who will discuss his exhibition Self-Evident, New Paintings by Taurus Burns at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, in the Sarah and Daniel Opperman Auditorium within Park Library. A reception will immediately follow in the Baber Room Gallery.

Taurus Burns' paintings are powerful introspections on race, identity, and society. His work will be displayed from Aug. 22 through Oct. 6, 2022, in the Baber Room Gallery within Charles V. Park Library.

Self-evident presents a series of black and white paintings which explore conversations around racism and gun violence in America, and in particular, the artist’s identity as a biracial human in an often-polarized black and white world and is on exhibit in the Park Library Baber Room through Oct. 6.

Taurus is a graduate of Detroit’s College for Creative Studies and has widely exhibited his work in galleries and museums in the Detroit region, nationally, and internationally, in places such as Brooklyn, Chicago, and London.
